High-temperature flue gas waste heat and cooling medium waste heat are the main sources of waste heat utilization, accounting for up to 70% of the two.

From its source, the waste heat resources can be divided into six types: high temperature flue gas waste heat, cooling medium waste heat, waste gas waste heat, high temperature products and slag waste heat, chemical reaction waste heat, combustible waste gas waste liquid waste heat, and waste waste heat. Among them, the high-temperature flue gas waste heat has a large amount and is widely distributed, such as various smelting furnaces, heating furnaces, and internal combustion engines in the metallurgical, chemical, building materials, machinery, and power industries, and is easy to recover. Therefore, the high-temperature flue gas waste heat accounts for about the total waste heat resources. About 50% of the amount.

The second is the waste heat of the cooling medium, which accounts for about 20% of the total waste heat resources, mainly because industrial production requires a large amount of cooling medium to protect the thermal insulation equipment.
